Good map/Bad map

This map is a mess. It is way too busy and confusing to the eye as well as difficult to tell what information is important to the reader.

This is an example of a good map. It is uncluttered and easy to ascertain exactly what information it was intended to convey. The most important information (airport delays) are clearly in the forefront and lesser information (weather) is in the background.

  1. Great examples. If anyone understands the need for good map design it is you! I hope you will be able to apply what you learn in our program to your department.
